Hola, pool person.
Let us be honest. You are going to spend at least one full day at the pool. Maybe two. Maybe the entire trip. No judgment. Cabo resort pools are not regular pools. Some of them are genuine architectural achievements with infinity edges that seem to pour into the Pacific Ocean.
But not all pools are created equal. We ranked the best resort pools in Cabo based on what actually matters: the view, the vibe, the swim-up bar, and whether the lounge chairs are worth fighting over.
What Makes a Great Pool in Cabo
Before the rankings, here is what separates a good resort pool from a great one:
The view. A pool that overlooks the Sea of Cortez is in a different category than one that overlooks a garden. In Cabo, the Corridor resorts have the best pool views because they sit on the bluffs above the coastline. You are swimming at elevation, looking down at the ocean. It is the kind of view that makes you put your phone away (after one photo).
The infinity edge. This is Cabo. Your pool should have an infinity edge. It is the law. (It is not the law, but it should be.) The optical illusion of the pool blending into the ocean never gets old, and it is the difference between a nice pool and a pool that makes people stop walking.
The swim-up bar. A pool without a swim-up bar is just a big bathtub. The best resort pools in Cabo let you order a margarita without leaving the water. Some have underwater stools, some have bar counters at the edge. Either way, this is non-negotiable.
The space. Some resort pools look incredible in photos and feel like a crowded hot tub in person. Peak season in Cabo (December through March) is the real test. The best pools have enough lounge space, enough water area, and enough bartenders to handle full capacity without feeling chaotic.
The Rankings
Tier 1: Worth booking the resort for the pool alone
The top-tier pool experiences in Cabo are at the resorts along the Corridor between Chileno Bay and Palmilla. These properties invested serious money in their pool areas, and it shows.
The standouts have multi-level infinity pools that cascade down the hillside, each level with its own vibe. Upper tier for quiet sunbathing. Middle tier for the swim-up bar and socializing. Lower tier near the beach for families. It is pool design as an art form.
If your pool has a view of the Arch from across the bay and a bartender who remembers your drink, you are in the right place.
Tier 2: Excellent pool, but you will also leave the resort
The resorts in Pedregal and the Cabo San Lucas side have pools with dramatic cliff views and a more intimate feel. Smaller properties, smaller pools, but the setting is stunning. These are the pools where the water is warm, the crowd is small, and you feel like you are at a private villa instead of a resort.
The trade-off: they tend to be smaller, so during high season, you might need to stake your claim on a lounge chair early. Get there by 9am during Christmas week or accept your fate.
Tier 3: Good pool, great everything else
Some resorts in San Jose del Cabo and the quieter parts of the Corridor have pools that are nice but not the main attraction. They are clean, well-maintained, and have a bar nearby, but they are not going to make you gasp when you walk out of the lobby.
These are the resorts you book for the food, the service, or the beach. The pool is a bonus, not the headliner. Still better than your pool at home.
The Swim-Up Bar Ranking
This deserves its own section because a swim-up bar can make or break your pool day.
The best swim-up bars in Cabo serve fresh drinks (not premixed), have underwater seating (so you are not just treading water), and have a bartender who takes pride in what they make. If the bartender puts a lime on your margarita with a little flair and asks if you want salt, you are at a good swim-up bar.
The worst swim-up bars serve you a lukewarm cocktail in a plastic cup and call it luxury. You will know the difference immediately.
The Adult-Only Pool Factor
Several Cabo resorts have a separate adults-only pool area. If you are traveling without kids, this is the move. The vibe is calmer, the music is better, the drinks flow faster, and you can read a book without a cannonball splash in your face.
Ask about adult-only pool access when you are booking. Some resorts include it for all guests. Some reserve it for suites and premium rooms. Worth the upgrade.
Pool Day Essentials
You already know sunscreen (reef-safe, SPF 50+). But here is what separates a good pool day from a great one:
- A book or a podcast. Put the phone down for a few hours.
- Cash for tips. The pool staff in Cabo works hard. A good tip early in the day gets you better service all day long.
- Lunch at the pool restaurant. Do not leave to eat. Order ceviche, fish tacos, and a cold beer from your lounge chair. This is why you came.

The Truth About Pool Photos
Every resort's website shows the pool empty at golden hour with a single cocktail on the edge. Real life has other guests, pool noodles, and a DJ who may or may not know what he is doing. The best pools still look incredible with people in them. That is the test.
